Freelancing has traditionally been viewed in a negative light. “It’s not a real job if you’re not in an office.”
“What about benefits?” In fact, you’ve always wanted to have the corner office. How priorities have changed. Welcome to the $1.2 trillion freelance economy. According to CNBC, now more than 1/3 of the American workforce freelance amid Covid-19.
This pandemic has shown us what it takes to stay afloat: self-motivation, organization and consistency. Today, it’s not the corner office that makes the job, it’s our resiliency and commitment that keeps work moving forward. It’s changing how future generations think about earning a living. We all have a lot to manage — work, hybrid/home-schooling, relationships, family, health, safety. As a result, our priorities have shifted and our flexibility has been put to the test. The ability to adapt to a new work environment is crucial.
While not every profession has the opportunity to freelance or deliver value from a work-from-home (WFH) environment, we are very thankful here at PenVine that we can and do. As a WFH public relations firm, the PenVine team is accustomed to working independently, but as a team, traveling as needed, and delivering every ounce of productivity we can.
While working and schooling during a pandemic is new for most of us, we have to adapt to ensure continuity, safety and in some cases, survival. That means making WFH work for you. Whether you are a freelancer or full-time employee, discipline and organization are the keys to success. And now that WFH is the “new normal” — we not only have to accept it, we have to embrace it. Some companies have been amazingly supportive with their WFH strategies, others not as much. We’re all in this together.
PenVine is hiring. We’re looking for a few great public relations professionals to join our WFH team on a full-time or freelance basis. Here’s what we’re looking for: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2163409133/?refId=20304351600271696048
